Hi, I’m Danielle Thompson, founder of Goldspun Training and creator of Brilliant Brand Basics.
I help small business owners understand marketing in a way that actually makes sense — no jargon, no pressure, just clarity, confidence, and results.
Why I do what I do
I’ve worked in marketing and branding for over 15 years, across corporate giants, creative agencies, and small independent businesses. And in that time, I’ve seen one problem come up again and again, brilliant business owners who’ve been made to feel like marketing is too complicated for them.
They’re told they need funnels, formulas, hashtags, hacks, or high-ticket coaches to succeed.
They end up overwhelmed, oversold, and underconfident, wondering if they’ll ever “get it.”
That’s why I created Goldspun Training.
Because marketing shouldn’t make you feel small, it should make you feel in control.
I’m on a mission to strip away the noise, the jargon, and the ego, and show people that marketing can be simple, ethical, and even enjoyable.
How I got here
Before I built Goldspun, I worked across a range of roles that gave me both the creative spark and the strategic foundation my clients rely on today.
Customer Service & Logistics at Bacardi-Martini and Boots – where I learned what makes people tick and how strong systems drive results.
Creative & Brand Management – overseeing campaigns, copy, colour, photography, and layout across in-store, digital, and print media.
Freelance Writing & Editing – shaping words and visuals into messages that connect and convert.
That blend of corporate experience, creative thinking, and real-world pragmatism is what underpins everything I teach today.
I don’t just understand marketing, I understand what it feels like to build something from the ground up while spinning a hundred other plates.
My philosophy
